The Winter Inn

The Winter Inn was built between 1900 and 1902. It was named after its builder and former owner, T.B Winter, a prominent early Greenville citizen and a well-known Montcalm County political figure. In it's earliest days the Winter Inn was one of the two first-class hotels in Greenville and served many on the visitors who arrived in the community on the railroad. The train station was just three blocks east and the Inn maintained its own stagecoaches to transport guests the short distance.

In 1978 a major restoration project was launched to bring the facility to its 1900's state. The facility reopened in early 1980.

The Winter Inn's interior has recently been updated and includes a completely remodeled dining area, a new horseshoe bar with two large screen Plasma TV's, also many new furnishings have been added to the hotel rooms for your comfort. While modern amenities have been added the Winter Inn's original atmosphere has been preserved.

It is the goal of Wade, Becky, Barry and Wendy Thornton and the Winter Inn staff to maintain the warm charm found at the Inn-by pleasing their customers with not only fine food and service, but also with a pleasant home-away-from-home feeling that has come to be a Winter Inn Tradition.
